Or at least they call it Pokémon Presents anyway. Semantics and all that. Here’s the official tweet from the Pokémon Twitter account:

[NEWS] Diancie distribution through the Internets this Weekend!

Firstly, would like to acknowledge that I was off on a short (if unannounced) hiatus. Writing without break in between real life stuff can be a little taxing. Still, no excuse, but back now anyway.

Second, oh lords they’re distributing this legendary Pokemon through the Mystery Gift online!

Some things to note about the brief weekend event:

  • The dates for this giveaway is from the 24th to the 27th of July (2015).
  • It will come at Level 50 with a moveset ready for battle: Diamond Storm, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam and Protect.
  • You can get its Mega Stone if you bring it to a Pokémon Center after receiving it (I hope I got this bit right, as in the Pokemon Centre in game. Trailer above seems to indicate so anyway)
  • The distribution will only be for either Alpha Sapphire or the Omega Ruby games. Unfortunately it seems like both X and Y will not be able to participate in this giveaway.
  • For both the US and EU versions.

Previously Diancie was available to the newer Pokemon games through serial codes that had to be obtained through Gamestop stores in the US sometime late October of 2014. This put a strain of a lot of people who don’t live in the States but rely on the US-NTSC versions for their games (myself included… region locking is an archaic and restrictive practice to the consumer if you’d like my take on this) so this little bit of news is a lovely godsend, a brief chance to obtain this little gem of a Pokemon, no pun intended.

If you’re reading this, help spread the news around to Pokemon fans you know! I’m sure they’d appreciate this piece of stealthy news.

[NEWS] Pokemon Shuffle coming to mobile

Well, this one was a bit of a no-brainer. The free-to-play Match 3 puzzle game featuring Pokemon on the 3DS is now announced to be in development for mobile devices to be released later this year.

The game will be available for free on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Now I’ve played it on the 3DS and I’m not a fan of its paywalls and shadily priced microtransactions. Still, if you’re a fan of Match 3 puzzle games with restrictions and rules like that of Candy Crush

Anyways, is this something you’ll download on your mobile? Personally I think the game is a better fit for mobile devices than the 3DS. What do you think?

[NEWS] Pokemon Jukebox releases on Google Play

This is a new mobile application from the Pokemon Company, and it seems to be a music app.  It’s a free app so yes it does have microtransactions in form of songs. The features the application has are provided below:

  • Daily Songs: Access three unlocked songs from various Pokémon series titles each day for no charge.
  • In-App Song Purchases: Purchase specific songs to make them playable at any time.
  • Keyword Song Search: Search for songs with keywords and concept tags like “Battle,” “Opening,” “Route,” and others.
  • Playable Sound Effects: Play preset sound effects along with the music using a built-in sound effects button.
  • Loop Functionality: Enable an endless loop for songs, just like during normal gameplay, or set the number of loops for each song.
  • Custom Tagging: Create original tags, such as “Intense Songs,” and connect them to any song.
  • Mix Feature: Set whether songs fade out when they end or immediately jump to the next song without a break.
  • Medleys: Purchasable medleys play several songs together in one long collection based on themes such as “Battles” or “Routes.”
  • Playlist Creation: Create a playlist of songs to listen to, including shuffle and repeat functionality. Pokémon Jukebox is not available for Apple devices, but Apple users can continue to purchase Pokémon songs from the iTunes store.

So Android users can now grab Pokemon OST music, if they haven’t already. The music planned is… well, I’ll put a quote below from the Pokemon Company:

In the first month, Pokémon fans can enjoy over 200 Pokémon songs from the adventures in Pokémon Red,Blue, FireRed,LeafGreen, HeartGold, and SoulSilver.Additional songs are planned to be released from the Pokémon series titles, including Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire!

Well, since I have an iPhone, I won’t be able to try this out. What about you Android users out there, will you give it a shot yourself?
